Menorca's most spectacular coves are hidden between cliffs and pine groves, and many are best enjoyed — or only reached — by boat.
South coast: white sand and turquoise water
Cala Macarella and Macarelleta. The most photographed on the island, with white sand and a postcard blue.
Cala en Turqueta. Almost 110 metres of fine sand surrounded by pines.
Cala Mitjana. An unspoilt cove with calm waters, ideal for anchoring.
Trebalúger. White sand, shallow water and a small freshwater stream.
Cala Escorxada. Surrounded by cliffs and pines.
North coast: wild landscapes
Cala Pregonda. Reddish sand and an almost lunar landscape.
Cala Pilar and Cala Fustam. Unspoilt and surrounded by nature.
Illa d'en Colom. Lovely anchorages and sheltered waters.
Anchoring tips
Always anchor over sand (never over posidonia meadows, which are protected), respect the buoyed swimming zones and check the day's wind.
