Boat routes around Menorca: south and north coast

Menorca has two very different coasts, both equally beautiful. Choosing the right route based on the day and the wind makes the difference between a good trip and a perfect one.

South coast route: turquoise coves

  1. Son Saura — a wide beach to start the day.
  2. Cala en Turqueta — an essential stop for your first swim.
  3. Macarella and Macarelleta — the island's jewels.
  4. Cala Mitjana and Trebalúger — to finish in peace.

North coast route: wild nature

  1. Cala Pregonda — reddish sand and a unique landscape.
  2. Cala Pilar and Cala Fustam — unspoilt and solitary.
  3. Illa d'en Colom and Es Grau — sheltered anchorages.

The north coast is more exposed to the tramontana wind, so it's best to pick a calm day.

How to choose your route

The golden rule: sail to leeward. With a northerly wind, the south coast is protected; with a southerly wind, take shelter in the north.
